Review: The Vampire Diaries S03E07 Ghost World

Synopsis from TV.com:

As the town prepares to celebrate the traditional Illumination Night, spirits of the dead invade Mystic Falls. After a brutal attack by an angry spirit, Damon asks Bonnie to determine the source of the ghosts' surprising power. Elena talks Jeremy into using his connection to the other side to help her explore new ways to reach Stefan, but Jeremy makes a terrible decision. Meanwhile, Alaric discovers a long-hidden clue that gives him new insight about the past.

This season of The Vampire Diaries is actually really good. I'm loving the way they are playing out the story of Stefen gone bad. The ghosts in this episode? Pure genious! It just adds a whole new element to the show. We've got vampires, werewolves and now ghosts. What's next? Can not wait to find out!

Review: Grey's Anatomy S08E07 Put Me In, Coach

Synopsis from TV.com:

Owen stresses teamwork and moves his leadership role over to the baseball field when he signs the doctors up for a baseball league, pitting them against their biggest competition, Seattle Presbyterian Lexie tries to hide her jealous rage when she sees Mark with a new woman, but her emotions get the better of her Alex fights to keep Zola at Seattle Grace after it is suggested that she be moved to another hospital due to a conflict of interest with Meredith and Derek. Richard scolds Meredith and Bailey for their feud.

Ok, so where do I start? I'll start off by saying that this episode was oretty humorous with the baseball theme. It was a nice change of pace for the show. Having said that though, I do have to say that I am not really feeling this new season at all.

I can't really explain why but I just don't feel as compelled to watch as I did the first five seasons of the show. I'm going to stick with it because there's definitely a chance it could get better.

Review: Revenge S01E06 Intrigue

Quick synopsis of the episode from TV.com:

The Graysons begin to distrust their top security man, who refuses to go away quietly. Meanwhile, the tension between Emily and Tyler can no longer be contained, as Daniel runs into problems. And the Porter brothers make daring romantic moves.

This episode was great. I loved the way they incorporated the story of Frank into the show. It definitely makes for some great conflict. Not only does Emily have to worry about Victoria and Lydia but now she's got Frank coming after her as well.

And what about Daniel's friend Tyler?! Can we all say Psychooo!

All in all, great episode. Loving the twists and turns week after week. Without a doubt, this show is the best new show on television.

Review: Dexter S06E04 A Horse Of A Different Color

This episode of Dexter aired last night and after the way last week's episode ended I just could not wait to see what was going to happen next. Here are some highlights from the episode:

  • What looked like dead bodies on the horses last week was actually body parts sewn onto mannequins.
  • Mike Anderson, Deb's newly hired detective, begins work.
  • Travis and his "friend" are shown in a diner where Travis is flirting with a waitress.
  • Masuka discovers the ice truck killer hand for auction online by his intern. He then fires her.
  • Laguerta sets Deb up to fail at a press conference.
  • Harrison is rushed to the hospital with a ruptured appendix.
  • Quinn and Batista smoke a joint while on duty.
  • Travis goes out to dinner with the waitress from the diner.
  • The team figures out who Travis' "friend" is.
  • Travis' girl is found hanging in a green house dressed as an angel. She dies.
  • Locusts are released from inside the green house.
  • The episode ends with Travis being seen by Dexter at the crime scene

Wow. So just as I think this show cannot get any better, they prove me wrong. I could not take my eyes of the television while watching this episode. The relationship building between Brother Sam and Dexter is really interesting to watch. It looks like Dexter is really learning from him even if he won't admit it. And Dexter spotting Travis outside the crime scene at the end?! Let the fun and games begin!

I do have one negative thing to say. I'm not really feeling all the religion that's being put into the show but that could just be because I'm not a very religious person. It definitely fits into the storyline perfectly but I just don't want it taking over.

Review: Dexter S06E03 Smokey And The Bandit

So I just got completely caught up on Dexter. Here are some highlights from the third episode of the season titled, Smokey and the Bandit:

  • Deb begins her new job as lieutenant.
  • Dexter plays golf with a man he believes is a killer called the "Tooth Fairy".
  • Dexter takes Walter (AKA Tooth Fairy) on some errands then drops him off at a storage shed.
  • Dexter breaks into the storage shed and discovers a box with the teeth from the Tooth Fairy's victims.
  • Walter gets into Dexter's car and pulls a gun on Dexter.
  • Masuka asks his new intern on a date and she says yes.
  • Laguerta and Deb butt heads over who to hire as the new detective.
  • Dexter kills Walter but makes it look like a heart attack.
  • Quinn begins to see other women but doesn't look happy.
  • Masuka's intern steals the hand from the evidence in the ice truck killer case.
  • Dexter drops his blood trophy box and breaks some slides.
  • The episode ends with what looks to be dead bodies riding horses in the middle of the street.

This episode was fantastic. So much happened. I'm loving the fact that no matter how popular this show gets the writers are always on top of their game. Seriously, they are the best writers on television. I'm really interested to see where they take the storyline with Travis and how they are going to tie it into Dexter and his whole world. And the ending?! With the horses?! WOW. Fantastic show. Fantastic episode.

Review: Once Upon A Time S01E01 Pilot

The premiere episode of the new series Once Upon A Time aired last night on ABC and my judgement is still up in the air. I think it's going to take me at least two to three episodes before I can pass judgement as to whether it's worthy or not. Having said that though,I have to say that the cinematography and imagery in the show is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. It's probably some of the best that I have ever seen on television. Period.

The pilot was definitely solid, I just can't figure out where they are going to take the story. There are so many possibilities. One thing is for sure though. I will DEFINITELY be tuning in next week to see where this series goes. It's got some serious potential.

The imagery alone is a reason to tune in every week.

    REVIEW: Revenge S01E05 Guilt

When Revenge first aired on ABC back in September, I had my doubts. While the pilot episode was definitely a solid one I couldn't help but go away from it still wondering. Wondering where they were going to be able to take this storyline. The problem for me was the fact that they started the season simply by showing us how it will all end. It left me thinking about how they were going to tell us the story and keep us interested when we already knew the ending.

Even with all of my doubts, I still tuned in every week and gave it a chance and boy am I glad I did. Last Wednesday's episode titled Guilt just proves that this show is one of the strongest new shows of the season.

In the episode, we went deeper into the story of Victoria. Week after week we are seeing more and more of the story of how Victoria and her husband Conrad were involved in the framing of Emily's father. The way the show flashes back at just the right moments makes the story flow with perfection. The death of Lydia was the perfect way to end the episode as now the drama just keeps getting bigger and juicier.
