News: Joss Whedon’s ‘Cabin in the Woods’ trailer debuts

The trailer for the horror thriller “The Cabin in the Woods” has popped up online and no one is more relieved than the fans of producer and co-writer Joss Whedon.
Loyal Whedonites have been waiting a long, long, long time for “Cabin in the Woods,” which was filmed in early 2009 and originally slated to debut in early 2010, but was left in a protracted limbo because of the bankruptcy of its studio, MGM.
Now Lionsgate has agreed to distribute the film, which promises to offer a twist on the classic teenagers trapped in a remote cabin genre (see: “Evil Dead” and “Cabin Fever”).

Review: Dexter S06E10 Ricochet Rabbit

From TV.com:
The mirror-match continues. Travis enlists some new acolytes. Miami Metro gets two new breaks. Dexter finds himself in hot water, confused about what to do with Wormwood.

Another great episode in this insane sixth season of Dexter. With only two more episodes left this season, things are bound to get crazy intense and fast. How far will Travis go? We learned towards the end of this episode that Travis is going to be targeting Miami Metro which brings up quite a few what if's and questions. Who is going to be safe? Will Travis target Deb?

Also, is Batista dead or just hurt? We saw that Travis hit him over the head. My theory is that we are in for one SHOCKING season finale. I have a feeling something big is coming, possibly one of the most shocking Dexter season finale's yet. Can not wait!!

Review: Dexter S06E09 Get Gellar

From TV.com:
Dexter tries to stay one step ahead of the Homicide Division concerning the Doomsday Killers, while he finds help from an unlikely source; Debra uncovers something unexpected about herself during her therapy sessions.

Huge turning point in the season! The moment where Dexter finds Gellar's body dead in a freezer where it had been for some time. Dexter realizes that it's been Travis behind everything this whole time. I'm not going to lie though, I wasn't that surprised when we saw that Gellar was dead. It's been pretty obvious throughout this whole season that something has not been right. We have only seen Travis ever really interact with or see Gellar.

So this means that Travis killed his own sister which makes it pretty obvious there's nothing he won't do. And what's up with Masuka's intern Louis? We find out that he is the one that has the Ice Truck Killer's hand that was sold on ebay. Clearly something is up with him and I'm sure we'll find out by season's end.

Another great episode. Although, not my favorite of the season.

From IMDB.com:
As they're held for ransom, a husband and wife's predicament grows more dire amid the discovery of betrayal and deception.

Movie To Watch: One Day

From IMDB.com:
After spending the night together on the night of their college graduation Dexter and Em are shown each year on the same date to see where they are in their lives. They are sometimes together, sometimes not, on that day.

I watched this movie yesterday and while it's not the best movie I have ever seen it's definitely worth a watch. A very cute movie with a heartfelt story. Order the DVD on Amazon:

Review: Dexter S06E08 Sins Of Omission

From TV.com:

Dexter, using what he's learned from Brother Sam, comes a step closer to the Doomsday killers, specifically Travis; Deb and LaGuerta go head-to-head after a call girl ends up dead.

Another great episode! This episode really left me wondering how this season will end. Fans of Dexter from season 1 know that the show's writers and producers thrive on shocking the audience. So I'm watching this latest episode and I couldn't help but think "Are they going to kill off Deb?". It just seems really interesting that when they found Travis' sisters body that Deb's business card was pinned to her body. Was it a warning of whats to come? Or a warning for Dexter to stay away?

Also, is Geller real or just in Travis' mind? It seemed really interesting that Dexter was only feet away from Geller and yet he didn't catch a single glimpse of him.

I'm very interested in seeing where this season takes us. With only 4 episodes left, its bound to get interesting!

From TV.com:

Emily's plot further unravels as Victoria's unstable relationship with her family grows increasingly more tense when an unwanted pawn in Emily's game heads to the Hamptons with questionable intentions. Meanwhile, Lydia's memory is a growing concern for the Graysons and a recently embittered friend begins to play dirty.

Another great episode of course! The addition of Emily's friend "Amanda Clarke" is a great move on the shows part. She killed Frank and comes back into Emily's life. Emily tries everything in her power to get rid of her as soon as possible but as we saw at the end of the episode it doesn't look like this girl is going away anytime soon.

I love the fact that we are seeing Victoria being isolated by everyone around her, including her family. How will she handle all of this? I guess we will soon find out.

Preview: Dexter S06E08 Sins Of Omission

Review: Dexter S06E07 Nebraska

This episode of Dexter really showed us Dexter's bad and dark side living to its full potential. With the help of his dead brother, Briana aka The Ice Truck Killer, Dexter goes on a road trip to visit Jonah who was the son of the Trinity Killer. From what we were told in the beginning of the episode it seemed as if Jonah killed his mother and his sister and made it look like it was Trinity. But since Dexter killed Trinity, he knew that it was actually Jonah who did it.

Later Dexter finds out that Jonah's sister actually killed herself and Jonah was so angry with his mother that he went off on her and ended up killing her.

This episode definitely wasn't my favorite of the season. It was good but it was also strange seeing Dexter completely out of his element. I mean, it was a must for the show to show Dexter in that light. To show the audience how easy it could be for him to let go of his code and just kill for the sake of killing. Thankfully, Dexter chose to live by the code.

Review: Dexter S06E06 Just Let Go

From TV.com:

Dexter investigates who shot Brother Sam. Meanwhile,Homicide interrogates the woman who Quinn slept with who is involved in the Doomsday Killer case.

Can we all just say WHOA?! That was a fantastic episode of Dexter last night. Things are finally getting really really juicy. The most shocking moment: Dexter's brother Brian aka The Ice Truck killer makes his triumphant return. He's obviously dead but it seems that he is going to be taking Harry's place for a little while which can only mean we are going to be seeing a lot of darkness from Dexter in the next episode.

Other notes about the episode:
  • Is anyone else getting a funny feeling about Masuka's new intern? Why is he asking so many questions about Dexter?
  • Quinn seems to totally be screwing up his life. Clearly he's still in love with Deb but is she in love with him?
  • And what about Travis letting the "whore" go? We're seeing a lot of inner struggle in his character. Good vs. Evil.
AWESOME episode. Can not wait for next week!

Review: Dexter S06E05 The Angel Of Death

Quick recap from TV.com:

With the help of his newfound friend Brother Sam, Dexter wonders if there is light within him to counter the darkness, while the search for the Doomsday Killers takes him in a new direction; Batista and Quinn pay a visit to the university where Professor Gellar taught; due to departmental regulations following the shooting, Debra is forced to begin therapy.

Alright so where do I begin? Well, even though this episode was really good I definitely have to say it was my least favorite of the season. I can't really put my finger on why that is but it just didn't grab my attention like the other ones did.

I am loving the friendship between Brother Sam and Dexter. It's really got me wondering where the writers plan on taking it. There's so many different ways it could go. Oh, and, what about the scene with Dexter and Travis in the car? Dexter decides he's going to kill him but then realizes that Geller is the one he really wants.

All in all, good episode but I hope they start really getting into where the season is going. We need to know so much more about Geller and Travis!

Review: Revenge S01E07 Charade

Quick synopsis from TV.com:

The Graysons' quiet anniversary plans go off track and are replaced by an explosive family dinner. Meanwhile, Frank unearths some info on Emily in an attempt to prove his devotion to Victoria.

Yet another amazing episode from Revenge. Seriously, if the writers and actors keep things going the way they are going this show is bound for greatness. Victoria in this episode was amazing. Little by little I find myself starting to feel sympathy for her. As they tell her backstory more and more, you start to realize that a lot of the stuff she did was because she was kind of forced into it to protect her family.

And Nolan hooking up with Tyler?!?! WHAT?!? Tyler is way too sketchy for my taste. I have a feeling he is going to be stirring up much more trouble for Emily to come. All in all, another awesome episode!

Review: The Vampire Diaries S03E07 Ghost World

Synopsis from TV.com:

As the town prepares to celebrate the traditional Illumination Night, spirits of the dead invade Mystic Falls. After a brutal attack by an angry spirit, Damon asks Bonnie to determine the source of the ghosts' surprising power. Elena talks Jeremy into using his connection to the other side to help her explore new ways to reach Stefan, but Jeremy makes a terrible decision. Meanwhile, Alaric discovers a long-hidden clue that gives him new insight about the past.

This season of The Vampire Diaries is actually really good. I'm loving the way they are playing out the story of Stefen gone bad. The ghosts in this episode? Pure genious! It just adds a whole new element to the show. We've got vampires, werewolves and now ghosts. What's next? Can not wait to find out!

Review: Grey's Anatomy S08E07 Put Me In, Coach

Synopsis from TV.com:

Owen stresses teamwork and moves his leadership role over to the baseball field when he signs the doctors up for a baseball league, pitting them against their biggest competition, Seattle Presbyterian Lexie tries to hide her jealous rage when she sees Mark with a new woman, but her emotions get the better of her Alex fights to keep Zola at Seattle Grace after it is suggested that she be moved to another hospital due to a conflict of interest with Meredith and Derek. Richard scolds Meredith and Bailey for their feud.

Ok, so where do I start? I'll start off by saying that this episode was oretty humorous with the baseball theme. It was a nice change of pace for the show. Having said that though, I do have to say that I am not really feeling this new season at all.

I can't really explain why but I just don't feel as compelled to watch as I did the first five seasons of the show. I'm going to stick with it because there's definitely a chance it could get better.

Review: Revenge S01E06 Intrigue

Quick synopsis of the episode from TV.com:

The Graysons begin to distrust their top security man, who refuses to go away quietly. Meanwhile, the tension between Emily and Tyler can no longer be contained, as Daniel runs into problems. And the Porter brothers make daring romantic moves.

This episode was great. I loved the way they incorporated the story of Frank into the show. It definitely makes for some great conflict. Not only does Emily have to worry about Victoria and Lydia but now she's got Frank coming after her as well.

And what about Daniel's friend Tyler?! Can we all say Psychooo!

All in all, great episode. Loving the twists and turns week after week. Without a doubt, this show is the best new show on television.

Review: Dexter S06E04 A Horse Of A Different Color

This episode of Dexter aired last night and after the way last week's episode ended I just could not wait to see what was going to happen next. Here are some highlights from the episode:

  • What looked like dead bodies on the horses last week was actually body parts sewn onto mannequins.
  • Mike Anderson, Deb's newly hired detective, begins work.
  • Travis and his "friend" are shown in a diner where Travis is flirting with a waitress.
  • Masuka discovers the ice truck killer hand for auction online by his intern. He then fires her.
  • Laguerta sets Deb up to fail at a press conference.
  • Harrison is rushed to the hospital with a ruptured appendix.
  • Quinn and Batista smoke a joint while on duty.
  • Travis goes out to dinner with the waitress from the diner.
  • The team figures out who Travis' "friend" is.
  • Travis' girl is found hanging in a green house dressed as an angel. She dies.
  • Locusts are released from inside the green house.
  • The episode ends with Travis being seen by Dexter at the crime scene

Wow. So just as I think this show cannot get any better, they prove me wrong. I could not take my eyes of the television while watching this episode. The relationship building between Brother Sam and Dexter is really interesting to watch. It looks like Dexter is really learning from him even if he won't admit it. And Dexter spotting Travis outside the crime scene at the end?! Let the fun and games begin!

I do have one negative thing to say. I'm not really feeling all the religion that's being put into the show but that could just be because I'm not a very religious person. It definitely fits into the storyline perfectly but I just don't want it taking over.

Review: Dexter S06E03 Smokey And The Bandit

So I just got completely caught up on Dexter. Here are some highlights from the third episode of the season titled, Smokey and the Bandit:

  • Deb begins her new job as lieutenant.
  • Dexter plays golf with a man he believes is a killer called the "Tooth Fairy".
  • Dexter takes Walter (AKA Tooth Fairy) on some errands then drops him off at a storage shed.
  • Dexter breaks into the storage shed and discovers a box with the teeth from the Tooth Fairy's victims.
  • Walter gets into Dexter's car and pulls a gun on Dexter.
  • Masuka asks his new intern on a date and she says yes.
  • Laguerta and Deb butt heads over who to hire as the new detective.
  • Dexter kills Walter but makes it look like a heart attack.
  • Quinn begins to see other women but doesn't look happy.
  • Masuka's intern steals the hand from the evidence in the ice truck killer case.
  • Dexter drops his blood trophy box and breaks some slides.
  • The episode ends with what looks to be dead bodies riding horses in the middle of the street.

This episode was fantastic. So much happened. I'm loving the fact that no matter how popular this show gets the writers are always on top of their game. Seriously, they are the best writers on television. I'm really interested to see where they take the storyline with Travis and how they are going to tie it into Dexter and his whole world. And the ending?! With the horses?! WOW. Fantastic show. Fantastic episode.

Review: Once Upon A Time S01E01 Pilot

The premiere episode of the new series Once Upon A Time aired last night on ABC and my judgement is still up in the air. I think it's going to take me at least two to three episodes before I can pass judgement as to whether it's worthy or not. Having said that though,I have to say that the cinematography and imagery in the show is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. It's probably some of the best that I have ever seen on television. Period.

The pilot was definitely solid, I just can't figure out where they are going to take the story. There are so many possibilities. One thing is for sure though. I will DEFINITELY be tuning in next week to see where this series goes. It's got some serious potential.

The imagery alone is a reason to tune in every week.

    REVIEW: Revenge S01E05 Guilt

When Revenge first aired on ABC back in September, I had my doubts. While the pilot episode was definitely a solid one I couldn't help but go away from it still wondering. Wondering where they were going to be able to take this storyline. The problem for me was the fact that they started the season simply by showing us how it will all end. It left me thinking about how they were going to tell us the story and keep us interested when we already knew the ending.

Even with all of my doubts, I still tuned in every week and gave it a chance and boy am I glad I did. Last Wednesday's episode titled Guilt just proves that this show is one of the strongest new shows of the season.

In the episode, we went deeper into the story of Victoria. Week after week we are seeing more and more of the story of how Victoria and her husband Conrad were involved in the framing of Emily's father. The way the show flashes back at just the right moments makes the story flow with perfection. The death of Lydia was the perfect way to end the episode as now the drama just keeps getting bigger and juicier.
